LAHORE: A family court in Lahore issued on Wednesday arrest warrants of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's daughter for disobeying court orders.

Fiza Gilani’s ex-husband Khurram Khan had submitted an appeal, saying his former wife was not allowing him to meet their son. He requested the court to let him visit his son, and ensure his former spouse follows the law.

Guardian Court judge Shazia Makhdoom heard the petition and issued Fiza's arrest warrants.

In her order, she asked the law enforcement agencies to take Fiza, who is a former Goodwill Ambassador for Women Empowerment, into custody, and make her appear before the court by September 3.

Reports suggested that Fiza tied the knot with Khan in 1998 and got divorced in 2011.
