Qandeel had started fasting, came towards religious teachings: Mufti Qawi
Qavi’s membership of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was suspended last month after he took selfies and appeared in a video with Qandeel in a Multan hotel room.
In a veiled reference to his episode with Qandeel, Mufti Qavi said that people need to learn that clerics are the pious face of religion and they should not dare to mock the pious face of Islam or humiliate religious scholars and clerics.
“Otherwise they will face the wrath of Almighty Allah.”
He , however, said that he had forgiven Qandeel a long time ago and had no hatred for her. He called her a brave woman who presented the true face of Pakistani women.

“She [Qandeel] had first wanted to meet PTI chairman Imran Khan and I agreed to arrange that,” said Qavi who refuted reports that he was removed from his party.
Qavi insisted that he had sympathy for Qandeel, because she had started fasting and was moving closer towards her religion.
“I had convinced her to repent her sins and adopt a pious life. I had even offered to marry her if she became pious,” he said.
