Police hiring: Committee to probe irregularities

It has ordered officials from the Establishment Branch

LAHORE:
A committee has been formed to investigate allegations of irregularities during recruitment for Lahore Police. Capital City Police Officer Amin Wains had ordered formation of the committee that consists of Administration Senior Superintendent of Police Rana Ayaz Salim and Headquarters Superintendent of Police Umar Saeed. The committee has started scrutiny of at least 1,400 constables and drivers recruited in 2006. It has ordered officials from the Establishment Branch, who were part of the recruitment process, to present the record.
