Action sought against traffic warden
He requested the court to direct the authorities concerned to take action against the inspector
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Friday sought comments from the Anti Corruption Department director on a petition filed by the manager of a bus company seeking action against a traffic warden for demanding bribery.
Waqas Latif, the Sidhu Travellers manager, submitted that Inspector Asadul Yameen Khilji had told him that he would not issue tickets to the company buses if he was paid a “handsome” amount each month.
Latif said that when he told Khilji that their drivers abided by traffic rules, the inspector threatened to issue tickets to them anyway. He said that a couple of days ago the officer had issued two tickets to their drivers without elaborating.
He requested the court to direct the authorities concerned to take action against the inspector.
