Veterinary education: Improvement in curricula suggested  

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Friday organised a meeting on Roadmap for Veterinary Education Improvement to discuss revisions and modifications of the veterinary education curricula.

Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the meeting, attended by Faculty of Veterinary Science Dean Masood Rabbani, Nasim Ahmad, Aleem Bhatti and Quality Enhancement Cell Director Dawar Hameed Mughal. The participants suggested improvement to the curriculum in view of the current needs. Pasha said the curriculum of various degree programmes needed to be regularly updated. He advised teachers to adopt innovative teaching methodologies.  Rabbani stressed the need for polishing leadership and communication skills of students. He said there was need for “new knowledge” to ensure food security. He suggested revision of the DVM internship programme to make it more effective.
