Plea for safe rescue of CJ’s abducted son

Judges have shown their grave concern that almost 24 days have passed since the kidnapping

KARACHI: All 20 Sindh High Court (SHC) judges on Thursday urged the prime minister and the president to ensure the safe recovery of the SHC chief justice’s son, who was kidnapped on June 21.

“They [judges] have shown their grave concern that almost 24 days have passed, however, the law enforcement agencies have failed to recover the abductee,” read a statement issued by SHC registrar Ghulam Mustafa Memon.

“[If] judges and their family members are exposed to any untoward incidents of similiar nature, it might hamper the dispensation of justice.”

Advocate Ovais Ali Shah was kidnapped on June 21 afternoon from Clifton neighbourhood in Karachi.
