Cricketers urge support for Edhi Foundation ahead of Lord’s Test
Pakistan will wear Edhi Foundation logo on their official kit as they face England today
Abdul Sattar Edhi, founder of the Edhi Foundation, passed away on Friday last week. However, the memory of his social work will stay on with Pakistanis forever.
An example of this is shown by Pakistani players, who are currently on tour of England, as they urged people to continue supporting the good work done by Edhi Foundation and take up responsibility for it after the philanthropist’s demise.
Pakistan opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez said that people should continue supporting the late philanthropist’s organisation, so that it keeps on doing good work in society. “We all need to come together and work hard for Edhi Foundation,” he said. “Now, it is our responsibility, not only as Pakistanis but also as good human beings to support this foundation, and work towards the betterment of the poor.”

Similarly, T20I captain Sarfraz Ahmed also said that support from Pakistani citizens was vital for the organisation to continue working like it did during Edhi’s lifetime. “Edhi’s death has deeply saddened us, he worked hard for Pakistan and his absence would definitely be felt in our society,” he said. “However, we should all support Edhi Foundation so that it can carry on working like it did during Edhi’s lifetime.”
