LOS ANGELES: Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger is reportedly going to perform at the Grammys Awards ceremony this month.

Jagger will be joining a star studded musical line up that includes Lady Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry and many more, organisers announced on Thursday.

The rock and roll icon will perform live under the categorical selection of  the ‘In Memoriam’ section of the February 13 awards show; the segment will be paying a tribute to the King of Rock n Soul, Solomon Burke, who died last year.

He will be accompanied by Grammy-winning US singer and songwriter Raphael Saadiq and his band at the music industry’s annual awards show at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.

In previous years veteran stars headlining the annual Grammys have included Elton John (who sung a duet with Lady Gaga last year), Paul McCartney in 2009, and soul legend Aretha Franklin in 2008.

Other artistes performing at the awards include Justin Bieber, Lady Antebellum, Arcade Fire, Miranda Lambert, Muse, Usher, Bruno Mars and Rihanna.

Actor Gwyneth Paltrow, nine time Grammy winner Norah Jones and two time winner, LL Cool J have been selected as the presenters who will hand out the awards at the 53rd Grammys show. Rapper Eminem who is one of the performing artistes is also hoping to take home a few awards; he is nominated in 10 categories at the Grammys, capping a comeback year for the once-troubled rap star. Eminem got a Best Album nod for his album Recovery, as well Best Song nomination with Rihanna for “Love the Way You Lie”.

Hawaiian-born singer Bruno Mars came in second to Eminem with seven nominations including Best Male Pop Vocal. US rap megastar Jay-Z, Nashville-born country trio Lady Antebellum and Lady Gaga each earned six nods at the show.

Katy Perry, who is set to open the show with her catchy “California Gurls”, is also in the running for Best Album along with Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire and Lady Antebellum. But only time will tell who sweeps the Grammys this year.
