KARACHI: The monsoon system behind the expected rain on the metropolis from July 12 to July 14 has been weakened and will only lead to some light showers. Regional Meteorological Centre, Karachi director Dr Abdul Rashid told The Express Tribune that residents should now only expect light rain as the direction of the monsoon system has changed to South-West towards the Arabian Sea. Rashid said that this is normal as the wind plays a key role during the monsoon season by changing directions of weather systems. He added that such monsoon systems will continue to come every 10 days or so and citizens should not be upset because of this. Meanwhile, commenting on the rise in temperature, Rashid said the weather will remain pleasant and temperature will persist around 34ºC.
