Inspector General of Police Nasir Khan Durrani promoted 33 sub inspectors to the rank of inspector with immediate effect. The officials were promoted on the recommendation of a departmental selection committee, stated a notification issued on Monday.
A meeting of the departmental selection committee, headed by additional IGP, was held recently.
The committee reviewed the promotion cases of 33 sub inspectors posted in various regions of the province.
During the meeting, the committee members recommended the promotion of 33 police officials and these were forwarded to the IGP for final approval. Consequently, the police chief promoted the 33 sub inspectors to the rank of inspector.

The police officials who were promoted included sub inspectors Saifur Rehman, Muhammad Imran, Syed Sagheer Abbas Shah, Fazal Rahim, Mumtaz Khan and Faqir Muhammad of DI Khan. Also promoted were Muhammad Nawab, Miraj Muhammad, Amjad Iqbal, Mukarram Shah, Emaduddin, Muhammad Ali, Kaleemullah, Muhammad Abbas and Bahramand Shah of Malakand.
Similarly, sub inspectors Gul Khitab, Zubair Shah, Muhammad Rasan, Abdul Ghafoor, Zulfiqar Ali, Tufail Muhammad, Muhammad Munir, Sadaqat Nisar, Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Assad Yousuf, Muhammad Zia, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Asif of Hazara were promoted, while Gul Shadi Khan from Kohat and Shafiur Rehman, Muhammad Yaqoob and Khaista Wahab from Mardan were also promoted to the rank of inspector.
