Chairman of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Najam Sethi has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to change the name of the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore to Edhi Stadium in order to pay tribute to the late philanthropist.

In a tweet, the 68-year-old asked PCB’s Board of Governance (BoG) to approve his suggestion.

Pakistan mourns Abdul Sattar Edhi's death

Earlier, Pakistan and Sussex teams observed a minute’s silence during their tour match on Saturday, whereas Misbah’s men also wore black armbands in order to pay tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi, who passed away on Friday night after a long battle with kidney illness.

The 88-year-old was given a state funeral in acknowledgment of his services for the nation for more than six decades.

NKAli | 7 years ago | Reply It's very obvious that Najam Sethi is a living example of disrespecting 'friends of Pakistan.' The late Moammer Gaddafi was a friend of Pakistan and we must not disrespect his memory. Yes, I support all those who want Karachi's National Stadium to be named as Edhi International Stadium. AFTER ALL, THE WALI (EDHI) NEVER INVOLVED IN POLITICS, SCANDALS OR CONTROVERSIES OR ANY SIMILAR 'GET RICH QUICK SCHEMES.' Somebody please educate me if ECP is fixing all those 'punctures.' Salams
