The Askari Bank has aggressively pursued the expansion of its ATM network to facilitate more and more customers, said a press release issued here on Monday.

The bank said that it believes technology-driven products are the future of the banking industry and it has added 205 ATMs in the last two and a half years, bringing the total number of machines to 493 — an increase of 71 per cent — across the country.

The ATM technology has also been upgraded to ensure maximum up-time and the bank has managed to maintain 93.5 per cent up-time with 99.7 per cent cash up-time in 2016.

“The bank’s ATM network is multi-layer and whenever any ATM is low at cash an auto-generated SMS is generated for replenishment. Similarly, SMSs are generated for alert and resolution of any technical issue.”

In the second layer, the ATM performance is monitored 24 hours and seven days a week from a centralized location by teams of experienced professionals supported by technology vendors to ensured that issues were resolved within the minimum possible time and round-the-clock accessibility of the ATM service was ensured to the customers.
