
The report said that the Indian government requested to have access to the service of encrypted messages, exclusive to Blackberry, to prevent further terrorist activities in the country. They said this in the wake of the Mumbai attacks in November 2008.
It further stated that Indian officials have been trying to negotiate with Research In Motion (RIM) and had set January 31 as the deadline for the company to respond.
Robert Crow, company vice president, told BBC News that there was no possibility of providing a solution, however, Indian officials warned that they won’t take no for an answer.
