This was disclosed during a meeting chaired by Director General Arshad Zia on Saturday.
Finance Deputy Director Muhammad Naeem Mukhtar told the meeting: “Around 98.3 per cent utilisation has been achieved. The funds were utilised in a transparent manner on procurement of snorkels (104 metres and 70 metres), ambulances, fire and rescue vehicles, self-contained underwater breathing apparatus (SCUBA), furniture and installation of solar system at rescue stations.”
Mukhtar said that the process of procurement of 25 items for Urban Search and Rescue Units had been completed. “Supply orders have been placed to the lowest bidders. Procurement of various items from non-development funds, including uniforms for rescuers, has also been completed,” he said.
