Security forces in Swat announced head money of Rs1 million for the capture of seven militants. Officials told The Express Tribune security forces announced the bounty due to the alleged links of these individuals with banned outfits and their involvement in anti-state activities.
Security forces also distributed posters across Swat district with names and pictures of all the suspects. These were plastered on walls outside mosques, schools, hospitals and other public places. Security forces mentioned telephone numbers in the posters and assured the identity and details of the informant(s) would be kept secret.
Officials added the militants were involved in attacks on security personnel, killing civilians and destroying schools and hospitals with improvised explosive devices.
