KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) removed all encroachments around Hyderi Market in North Nazimabad, including patharas, kiosks and stalls from the main road and pavement on Thursday. According to KMC’s director of their anti-encroachment cell Mazhar Khan, around 150 illegal makeshift shops were removed from the market in a grand operation. He said that the entrance of the market was blocked by the illegal shops, due to which the shoppers found it very difficult to move and even park their vehicles. On a question regarding who will make sure these encroachments do not come back, he said that the market has been handed over to the DSP of the area and now it was his responsibility to monitor the encroachments.
