Workplace safety: FESCO officials suspended for negligence
A Line Man had died after suffering an electric shock from a feeder he had been working on
FAISALABAD:
Faisalabad Electric Supply Company Chief Executive Officer Rashid Ahmed Aslam and Operations Chief Engineer Sheikh Amil Siddiqi suspended a sub divisional officer (SDO) and a line superintendent (LS) of the Garden Colony Sub Division on Wednesday for negligence.
A spokesperson said Line Man – I Muhammad Ashraf of Garden Colony Sub Division had died after suffering an electric shock from a feeder he had been working on. According to the initial investigation, the accident had occurred due to lack of safety measures taken for such standard work.
Aslam took notice of the fatal accident and told Siddiqi to suspend Garden Colony SDO Muddassar Habib and LS-I Muhammad Afzal and directed them to report to the FESCO Headquarters.
