Critical blow: Shopkeepers demand removal of blocks from plaza

The governor has been informed about the situation but nothing had been done

PESHAWAR:
Dil Jan Plaza Association president and other shopkeepers have pressed the relevant authorities to immediately remove the blocks placed outside the plaza for security reasons as they are hampering business activities.

The blocks were placed due to security concerns since the plaza is located next to the headquarters of the Frontier Constabulary. Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Wednesday, Haji Waheed Ahmad, the association’s president, said the blocks were placed outside the plaza for security concerns.

However, they have adversely affected the business activities of shopkeepers, especially those who are dealing in auto parts and other accessories. Ahmad added the blocks were placed 14 months ago.

However, despite repeated requests, their concerns were not addressed. He added the prime minster, chief minister and the governor has been informed about the situation but nothing had been done to deal with the matter.
