Information bar lifted: NAB to investigate hospital affairs

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has started investigation into the purchase of machinery and medical equipment by the Balochistan health department for government hospitals. According to NAB sources, there is information regarding corruption in buying machinery and equipment for public hospitals particularly stents for cardiac patients of Civil Hospital Quetta. NAB officials have sought relevant records from the provincial health authorities, sources said. Meanwhile, the Services and General Administration Department of the Balochistan government has advised all the departments concerned to provide the required information on due date sought by NAB. There were reports that the chief secretary has forbidden to provide any information to the corruption watchdog without his order, but the recent letter of SNGAD gave approval of chief secretary.
