The 17-year-old tent pegging sensation’s optimism regarding polo’s inclusion in the summer Games stems from the newfound interest of the UAE and several European countries in the sport he so loves.
While talking to The Express Tribune, Subhani, who captains the Pakistan U19 polo team, predicted international recognition for his sport in the near future and said: “By that time I will make it to the senior team and hope to represent Pakistan at the Olympics.”

Last year, Rohan won the national championship held at the Rangers Headquarters and earned Rs100,000 in prize money. But so impressed was the Corps Commander by the precocious teenager’s skills that he threw in another Rs50,000 to his winnings.
Rohan has also represented Pakistan at international level and bagged six gold, two silver and one bronze medals in Australia in international tent pegging and equestrian competitions.

On his return, the Equestrian and Tent Pegging Federation of Pakistan (ETFP) appointed him as the captain of the U19 team, a job he is extremely excited about. “I’ll represent Pakistan as their captain in upcoming events for which I am very honoured and I hope to bring more awards to Pakistan,” he said.

Rohan’s natural talent for polo was evident at the age of four when he first started horseback riding in Sialkot. But he doesn’t rely on just his God-given ability and always strives to hone his skills. To improve further, he also intends to go to Argentina where he will get more advanced polo coaching.
For now, Rohan is preparing for the upcoming competition in which at least half a dozen countries would be coming to Pakistan and which will begin in August.
