Removal of billboards: Commissioner wants work expedited

KARACHI: Karachi commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan has ordered all the district municipal corporations and cantonment boards to submit a report regarding the removal of unlawful billboards by June 29. In a high-level meeting regarding removal of illegal billboards from the city, he directed all the officials to speed up the removal work. It was decided in the meeting that one day before the Supreme Court’s deadline [of June 30], all the billboards erected on public property would be removed. According to the press release from the commissioner’s office, the meeting decided to take legal action against those who interrupt the removal work.
