Crime drops by 70% in Faisalabad region, police claim

FAISALABAD:

Crime rate in the Faisalabad Region has declined by nearly 70% over the past three months, according to official data released following a crackdown led by Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhera.

Officials said the significant reduction in crime was achieved after the RPO assumed charge and implemented a coordinated strategy to control rising criminal activity across the region. The approach focused on improved policing, targeted operations and stronger leadership at the district level.

According to statistics obtained by Express, major categories of crime witnessed a sharp decline. Incidents of robbery dropped by 85%, motorcycle snatching cases decreased by 66%, motorcycle theft by 62% and car theft by 57% during the period under review.
