Rejoinder: Rescue 1122 organisational structure

In a rejoinder issued on Saturday, the Rescue 1122 said a news item pertaining to the organisation structure of the service not being up to the mark, featured erroneous details. The department said all appointments had been made on merit. The Rescue-1122 said the Punjab Emergency Service DG oversaw the procurement wing’s affairs. The department said that the finance deputy director had never been entrusted with the responsibility. The Rescue-1122 also enumerated various steps taken to ensure that power was not concentrated in a single office and power was delegated in accordance with due process. Thus, the department said, no irregularity had taken place. It said that departmental accounts committee and special departmental accounts committee were presided over by pertinent authorities and had never been chaired by the finance deputy director.
