United Nations public service day will be observed on June 23 to celebrate the value and virtue of public service to community. It also focuses on raising awareness regarding the contribution of public service in the development of society and honouring the work of public servants. Events held on the occasion aim at encouraging young people to pursue careers in public sector. This day is marked with United Nations Public Service Awards Ceremony. It rewards excellence in public service and is aimed at promoting public service throughout the world. The winners would be announced at a high-level event held on June 23 each year.
