Noha khawan Farhan Ali Waris escapes 'assassination attempt' in Karachi
Car was surrounded by unidentified assailants near Teen Hatti area, claims Waris

Hours after renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri was shot dead in Karachi, prominent noha khawan Farhan Ali Waris claimed he escaped an assassination attempt in the city.
Waris said his car was surrounded by unidentified assailants near the Teen Hatti area of the metropolis.
"They were about to open fire but left as they noticed my guard positioning himself,” he said.
Amjad Sabri shot dead in Karachi
Waris said he was provided a security guard on Wednesday by the Jafaria Disaster Cell.
"We searched the area and found no evidence Waris's car was shot at," said police.
He is part of ATV's Ramazan transmission.
Earlier in the day, Sabri, 45, was shot dead, two days after masked men kidnapped the son of a top provincial judge.
Officials said two gunmen shot at the windscreen of Sabri’s car as it drove off a bridge in the congested Liaquatabad area, and a relative, Saleem Sabri, travelling with him was also injured.
