‘Honour’: Man kills father, sister

The bodies were taken to the Chak Jhumra Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for post-mortem examination

FAISALABAD:
A man killed his father and a sister during an attempt to murder his two sisters for ‘honour’ in a Chak Jhumra police precinct on Tuesday night. A police spokesperson told journalists on Wednesday that Rizwan, a resident of Talwandi, had accused his sisters of having ‘loose morals’.

They had had an altercation on Tuesday night after which Rizwan attacked Sumera, 30, and Saira, 18. Their father Iqbal, 50, tried to intervene but Rizwan hacked him too. Sumera and Iqbal died before they could be given medical treatment. Saira was taken to Allied Hospital Faisalabad. Doctors treating her later said she was out of danger. Police arrived at the house and arrested Rizwan and seized the weapon he had used to kill his sister and father. The bodies were taken to the Chak Jhumra Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital for post-mortem examination.
