Security alert: IGP chairs meeting to review security
The IGP directed the officers to maintain records of all calls received on police helpline
LAHORE:
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera on Monday chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office to formulate security plans for Youm-i-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA), Yaumul Quds and Jumatul Wida.
Addressing the meeting, the IGP ordered officers to implement security SOPs on the 21st Ramazan. He directed the officers to provide foolproof security on Youmul Quds and Jummatul Widaa. The meeting also reviewed security arrangements for Ramazan Bazaars. Sukhera said that action would be taken against officers who did not provide records for computerisation. He also directed the SDPOs to speed up the crackdown against proclaimed offenders. The IGP directed the officers to maintain records of all calls received on police helpline (15). It was decided that IT rooms be established at all field offices to monitor complaints and front desks.
