Expelled From Turkey: FIA detains eight deportees

ISLAMABAD: Eight Pakistanis, who were deported from Turkey, were detained by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after they arrived at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) on Friday. The deportees, three from Punjab, three from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and one each from AJK and Sindh, arrived via a Dubai flight EK 612. They were identified as Shafqat and Nazeer, residents of Gujrat, Qalandar, a resident of Attock, Rahman Khaliq, Khan Zaman and Zahir Shah,  residents of Upper Dir, Asad, a resident of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Abdul Waheed, a resident of Hyderabad. The deportees had entered Turkey illegally via Taftan Iran. All the deportees were handed over to the FIA’s Anti Human Trafficking Cell for further investigation, immigration officials said. Meanwhile, an FIA team conducted two separate raids at travel agents’ offices at Alflah Shadi Hall and Commercial Market and a total of 22 passports were recovered from two travel agents. Further investigation is under way.
