Press Release June 17, 2016

LAHORE:

The Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) has launched a campaign to spread awareness about women’s rights related to issues of child marriage, birth registration, inheritance, and domestic violence. This was announced on Friday.

It said that under the campaign the commission was putting up advertisements with information about women’s rights on the back of rickshaws.

It said the ads also included information about the PCSW’s toll-free helpline.

Women could call the helpline to seek assistance on matters like workplace harassment, gender-based discrimination, property disputes, domestic violence and information on hostels, day-care centres and other facilities for working women. This helpline is part of the PCSW’s efforts to raise awareness on women’s rights.
