Sexual assault: Five remanded to police custody

MANSEHRA: Five youngsters accused of raping a boy were remanded to police custody for a day by the court on Wednesday. A police official said on April 14, accused Farhan*, Akbar*, Aslam*, Irfan*, Sameer*and Musab* forcibly took Israr* into a nearby forest where they raped him one after the other and captured the scene in their mobile phones. The accused later uploaded the footage on social media. However, on victim’s complaint and medical examination, it proved the boy was sexually assaulted and the police registered a criminal case against the accused. Later, the six culprits managed to obtain pre-arrest bail from the local court. But on Tuesday, their bail before arrest was cancelled and five of them were arrested from the court premises, while the sixth accused did not appear in the court.  The accused will be produced before the court on Thursday (today).
