MQM media in charge booked for ‘spreading propaganda against Rangers’

Separately, eight criminals and four alleged target killers affiliated with the MQM arrested

Rangers on Wednesday booked Muttahida Qaumi Movement media cell in charge Aminul Haque for 'spreading propaganda against Rangers officials on social media'.

An FIR was registered at Azizabad police station against Haq under Sections 499, 502 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act on a complaint of Mohammad Ishaq, an official of Rangers Sachal wing, a statement said.

"Aminul Haq is spreading venomous propaganda against Rangers personnel and officers from MQM's Nine Zero headquarters in Azizabad," the Rangers said in the FIR.


Then paramilitary force accused Haq of spreading anti-Rangers video clips through social and electronic media.

In a video clip, which the Rangers claimed was produced by MQM's media cell against the director general Rangers, the army chief, the Inter-Services Intelligence chief and corps commander Karachi, it is allegedly being said: "Those who made us cry, we will now make that enemy cry."

Other types of objectionable material is also being published by Haq and his colleagues, Rangers added.

Separately, eight criminals and four alleged target killers affiliated with the MQM were arrested from Karachi's Ranchore Line, Kharadar and Baldia Town areas.
