Job insecurity: IHC stays Utility store GM’s firing
On May 19, the IHC issued a notice to the USC management seeking submit para-wise comments
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday issued a stay on the termination of Utility Stores Corporation (USC) Senior General Manager Masood Alam Niazi. IHC judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui suspended the termination order till the next hearing with directives to the USC management to submit a para-wise reply in the case by June 17. Niazi and four other senior USC officials were terminated in April on charges of corruption. Niazi had challenged the termination, requesting the court to set aside the order. On May 19, the IHC issued a notice to the USC management seeking submit para-wise comments, but the management failed to file the reply when the case was taken up on Friday.
