Energy regulator: OGRA issues 71 LNG licences  

Rs2.38 billion investment had so far poured into the LPG supply infrastructure

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has issued 71 different licences in the liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sector during the current fiscal year, a senior official of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources said. “The authority has issued 12 licences for the marketing of storage and filling plants, 37 permits for construction of storage and filling plants, 20 for construction of LPG auto-refuelling stations, one for storage and refuelling of LPG and one for construction of a production and storage facility,” he said. “The regulator is playing a vital role in increasing private investment in the midstream and downstream petroleum industry.” He said Rs2.38 billion investment had so far poured into the LPG supply infrastructure whereas total investment of over Rs22.33 billion was expected during the fiscal year 2016.
