Ramazan in capital: Over 2,000 to perform security duty

ISLAMABAD: At least 2,500 police personnel, security guards and volunteers will perform security duty outside mosques and imambargahs in Islamabad during Ramazan.

According to plan chalked out by the Islamabad Police, the security men will perform special duties outside 932 mosques and 41 imambargahs in the capital city.

Policemen from the Police Lines Headquarters have been provided to police stations to meet the strength of the required security staff.

Police stations have been directed to coordinate with traders to ensure effective security during the month.

The police have also been directed to carry out special checking of hotels, motels, inns and guest houses in the city.

Volunteers and security guards deployed outside places of worship would check people through metal detectors.

Meanwhile, property dealers have been asked to furnish record of tenants to their respective police stations.
