women protection bill: Campaign launched in Peshawar

WRCP CEO Omer Aftab hoped it would lead to the support, approval and implementation of the proposed bill

PESHAWAR:  

The White Ribbon Campaign Pakistan (WRCP) was launched in support of the women’s protection bill in K-P. The initiative has been taken to increase the provision of justice for women. According to a press release issued to the media on Monday, WRCP CEO Omer Aftab stated the initiative was held in collaboration with the Provincial Commission on the Status of Women. He hoped it would lead to the support, approval and implementation of the proposed bill. WRCP will aim to ensure the inclusion of all major stakeholders of the society. The campaign will engage strategic partners such as parliamentarians, politicians, religious leaders, lawyers, civil society and the media. He reiterated that any violent act against women cannot be justified.
