Noble cause: ‘It’s time to protect environment’

LAHORE: “Every citizen should play his role to protect environment,” Irrigation Minister Mian Yawar Zaman said on Sunday. Speaking to a delegation of irrigation experts, the minister said environmental pollution was a global concern and that collective efforts were needed to address the issue. He said that it was encouraging that the entire world now acknowledged environment protection as an issue that needed to be addressed. He said irrigation workers had been directed to carry out plantation along canals across the province. This would help add to the greenery, Zaman said. The minister urged clerics and the media to educate people about the importance of environment protection.
