A man allegedly gunned down his mother and sister in Panjpir, Swabi on Sunday following a minor disagreement.

A police official told The Express Tribune, Liaqat, the suspect’s father, registered a report against the incident.

“Liaqat told us his son, Kamran, opened fire on his wife and daughter following a dispute,” he said. “He managed to escape after committing the crime.”

According to the police official, the mother and daughter were rushed to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.

Separately, three police personnel were injured when their van overturned and plunged into a canal in Panjpir. Locals managed to rescue the personnel and shifted them to the hospital. They have been identified as Saddam, Imran and Taufeeq.

A day earlier, two brothers were gunned down in Panjpir, Swabi. Naeem Gul and his brother Zareen Gul allegedly opened fire on Juma Gul and Sabir Shah following a disagreement. Gulzar, Juma’s son, told the police the accused managed to escape the site after committing the crime. A few hours after the incident, Naeem and Zareen were arrested during a raid ordered by Swabi SHO Gulzar Khan.” A case has been registered against the accused.
