BANNU:

Another polio case surfaced from Bannu district on Saturday, bringing the number of cases reported this year in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to seven. The victim has been identified as six-year-old Sohema.

Rafiullah, her father, told The Express Tribune he had administered polio drops to his daughter. However, she managed to contract the virus.

“Medical teams from Islamabad and Peshawar said they would treat her accordingly but they failed to show up.”

He urged the provincial and federal governments to look into the matter and facilitate him over his daughter’s medical treatment.

This is the third polio case to surface from the district.

Earlier, on May 17, another polio case was reported from Bannu.
