
According to a press statement, the event was held at the university’s Bukhari Auditorium. Prof Dr Zahir Ahmed Siddiqi was the chief guest on the occasion.

“These scholarships include 31 ‘golden’ scholarships that cover the tuition fee and hostel expenses,” EFT Executive Committee Secretary Khalid Manzoor Butt said. He said that more than 2,000 students applied for the scholarships every year. “The candidates are interviewed by the GCU Financial Aid Committee, comprising five heads of departments. Documents provided by the applicants, including income certificates and utility bills, are examined in detail to ensure that only the truly deserving students receive the scholarships,” he said.
Vice Chancellor Hassan Amir Shah appreciated the efforts of the executive committee members, Iqbal Z Ahmed, Mian Misbahur Rehman, Mian Muhammad Ashraf, Javaid Oberia, Zia Rizvi and Butt for raising funds for the endowment that now exceeded Rs215 million.
