Army chief General Raheel Sharif has said Pakistan is facing multiple and complicated challenges, but expressed optimism that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will be turned into a reality.
While presiding over the Formation Commanders Conference at the GHQ, army chief said the Pakistani nation had remained a victim of terrorism for over a decade but turned the tide with its resilience and professionalism of armed forces.
The COAS said he was aware of hostility being perpetrated against CPEC, which promises to transform lives of Pakistanis.
He vowed that any price would be paid to turn the long cherished dream of the project into a reality.

Expressing satisfaction on the pace of TDPs return, General Raheel paid tributes to valiant tribes for their unwavering support in fight against terrorism.
The army chief also emphasised the quality and speed of rehabilitation and resettlement work in FATA for their dignified and timely return.
He acknowledged contributions by officers and soldiers towards making Operation Zarb-e-Azb a success and transiting into final phases.

Earlier, the participants were briefed on the prevailing internal and external security situation of the country, with the participants engaging in exhaustive discussion on professional matters.
