When asked about his absence from the industry, Akshaye told the reporters, "I had some personal issues which I had to sort out so, I couldn't work for a while," reports NDTV.

Akshaye, who plays the role of a kidnapper named Wagha, revealed that it was just a one-liner in the film that got him excited.

"For me, it was just one line of the film which was so fresh. Thirty six hours before India-Pakistan semi-final match, a major Indian cricketer gets kidnapped. Just that one line is so interesting and fresh," said the Dil Chahta Hai actor.
