Punjab bar council: Chairman, vice-chairman elected unopposed

Zafar Mehmood Mughal and Muhammad Lehrasib Gondal were elected unopposed.

LAHORE:
Zafar Mehmood Mughal and Muhammad Lehrasib Gondal were on Saturday elected unopposed as Punjab Bar Council’s chairman and vice chairman, respectively.

They were the candidates fielded by Friends’ Alliance, a group supported by the Peoples Lawyers’ Forum and Supreme Court Bar Association president and Pakistan Bar Council vice chairman.


The Professional Group, led by Advocate Hamid Khan, did not field any candidates. Mughal was elected to the PbBC from Rawalpindi. Gondal belongs to Mandi Bahauddin.

Supreme Court Bar Association president Asma Jahangir and Pakistan Bar Council members Muhammad Ahsan Bhoon and Azam Nazir Tarar have congratulated the winning candidates.
