Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has decided to provide land for cricket stadium for blind cricketers, ending a dispute between the LDA and Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC). “We have identified a site for building a blind cricket stadium and we will take every measure to address grievances of the PBCC in this regard”, said Nabeel Javed, the LDA director general. PBCC Chairman Syed Sultan Shah said the dispute arose after LDA stopped the construction of a stadium on a site near Ferozepur Road, saying the land was part of LDA City. “In 2004, we were allocated this land by the Punjab government for the construction of a cricket stadium and a hostel for blind cricketers. He said the Punjab Sports Board was overseeing the project. “The LDA has agreed to provide us other land not far from the city,” he said.
