QUETTA: Unidentified men kidnapped Balochistan Provincial Minister for local government Sardar Mustafa Khan Tareen's son, Asad Khan Tareen on Friday, police sources confirmed.

Initial reports revealed that Asad was abducted by unidentified culprits from Pishin Cadet College area. The site has been cordoned off by Frontier Corps and police officials as further investigation is underway.

Abducted Levies personnel released

Sources revealed the victim's vehicle and cellphone were recovered from the site where the abduction took place.

Separately, four Balochistan Levies personnel, who were abducted in the Awaran area of Balochistan by suspected militants, were released earlier this month.

The personnel were kidnapped by armed men from Gishkor tehsil in Awaran district late Saturday night when they were patrolling in the area.

“The kidnappers took their vehicle and four SMGs,” said a Balochistan Levies official.
