Sindh, Punjab, Army among opening day winners

KARACHI: Sindh, Punjab, Army, HEC and Police won their respective matches on the opening day of the 9th National Beach Handball Championship at Sea View Point-I in Karachi yesterday.

In the first match, Sindh defeated Balochistan 2-0 before Punjab and Army downed Police and Sindh respectively with identical scorelines of 2-1.

HEC then crushed Balochistan 2-0, followed by Punjab’s 2-1 win over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Police’s 2-0 defeat of Islamabad.

In the three-day championship, eight teams have been bracketed in two groups of four. Punjab, Islamabad, Police and K-P have been put in Group A, while Group B features Army, HEC, Sindh and Balochistan.
