Unidentified gunmen shot and injured a man on Wednesday in Gowalmandi area. Dr Wajid Ali, the registrar of Mayo Hospital’s Urology Department, was stated to be in serious condition after receiving bullet injuries in the attack.

Police said that the attackers had shot at Dr Ali when he came to a parking area of the hospital. “The two gunmen who were riding a motorcycle shot at Dr Ali when he was standing in the parking area of the Mayo Hospital. The gunmen fled on the motorcycle after the shooting,” police said.

Dr Ali was immediately taken to the hospital by  passers by, where he underwent surgery. Doctors treating him said that he had received two bullets to the chest.

“He is in serious condition,” they said. Police said that a case had been registered. Police said that they were searching for the attackers.
