Warning bells: IT teachers protest for upgradation
BANNU/BATKHELA:
Teachers of information technology (IT) in Bannu district and Malakand Division protested against the lack of adherence to their demands on Wednesday. Holding a demonstration in front of Bannu Press Club, Bannu district IT teachers association President Khairullah Khan told The Express Tribune, “Provincial education ministry promised us to regularise our service structure against subject specialists and also said our basic pay will be enhanced to our stature, however, the ministry has not issued any notification yet.” Meanwhile in Malakand Division, hundreds of IT teachers and computer operators protested against the provincial government and demanded they should be upgraded to BPS-16 otherwise, all IT teachers will boycott classes. Earlier, Supreme Court had ordered the provincial government to upgrade IT teachers to BPS-16 and also revise their service structures.
