
This was stated by Associate Prof Amir Latif on Sunday. “Over 300,000 liver patients need transplants,” he said.
He said that if the required facilities were provided to their unit, they would be able to perform 40 transplants a month. “Liver diseases are increasing in the country. Hundreds of patients are on our waiting list. However, we are unable to operate at full scale due to manpower shortage,” he said.
