Expansion: Adhi field capacity rises significantly

Adhi field’s production capacity is standing at 75mmscfd gas, 10,300bld NGL and 290mtd LPG

The capacity of the Adhi field to produce gas, natural gas liquid (NGL) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), has significantly increased with the commencement of its third plant, according to officials in Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL). The newly inaugurated plant-III has the potential to produce 25mmscfd (million standard cubic feet per day) of gas, 5,300bld (barrels liquid per day) NGL, and 150mtd (metric ton per day) LPG, revealed the officials. Now, with the inception of the Plant-III, Adhi field’s production capacity is standing at 75mmscfd gas, 10,300bld NGL and 290mtd LPG. Adhi field is a joint venture of PPL, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited and Pakistan Oilfields Limited. Commenting on future activities, the officials said that PPL was conducting a new reservoir simulation study, adding that additional six to eight development wells would be required to enhance production of the field. “Wellhead compression and exploration of sub-thrust is planned in 2017,” the officials added.
