Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who has been tracking the talented Ousmane Dembele of Stade Rennais FC in Ligue 1, has reportedly made up his mind to rope him in next season.

According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Liverpool officials have contacted Dembele's representatives to discuss a money-spinning deal at the beginning of the week.

Another English Premier League club, Borussia Dortmund, reportedly tried to sign Dembele for a £11.8 million fee but after looking at the increased interest in the winger, Rennais double their valuation of the player.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have also been linked with the player and if Liverpool are to sign the French youngster they will have to raise the bid up to £27m.

Europa final is great opportunity and we will take it, says Klopp

The 18-year-old is enjoying an outstanding breakthrough season with his French club where he is available on either flank or as an attacking midfielder and has netted 12 goals in 27 appearances.

The teenager, who is being considered one of France's brightest footballers, was described as a future Ballon d'Or prospect by former Manchester United and Arsenal defender, Mikael Silvestre.
